I make these myself, but the skill goes back a lot further than me. I learned to bead when I was just a little girl, sitting side-by-side with my grandmother. My cousins and I would spend whole weekends just working the beads, creating things and sharing stories. It’s a warm, happy memory that’s woven right into every single one of these pieces. When I was in the thick of building Copia, I needed a creative outlet—something for my hands to do that brought me back to center. My in-laws gave me a beading loom, and that’s how these came to be. It’s honest work, turning a pile of beads into something that connects us.
